Introduction to Easterford Pre-school
We are situated off of Kelvedon High Street in Easterford Road. The premises consist of two single level rooms, predominantly used by under 5’s and a large, secure outdoor play area.
Our Aim
We aim to provide a caring, safe, secure, stimulating and fun-filled learning environment and we offer a curriculum that encourages the development and confidence of children in all areas, preparing them for the next step to school. The pre-school years are a vital time of learning and we see Easterford Pre-school as a wider extension of home.
Development & Learning
Children start learning about the world around them from the moment they are born. The care and education offered by
Easterford
Pre-school recognises the importance of learning through play and the need for activities to be presented appropriately, considering age and more importantly the stage of a child’s development.
The Mixed and Swan (Senior) groups have a more structured environment than the Cygnet (Junior) group. This offers a chance to further your child’s holistic development.
We operate a key person system which fosters continuity and enables staff to be familiar with a child’s specific needs. For the child this provides an opportunity to build a close relationship with one of the adults.
Starting at Pre-School
Our staff will do everything it takes to ensure your little ones feel safe and happy. Children cannot play or learn successfully if they are anxious or unhappy. Settling in will be particularly important for parents and children, we will put the child’s happiness above all else. Our settling procedures aim to help parents and their children to feel comfortable in the Pre-school setting, to benefit from all it has to offer, and for the children to feel confident that their parents will return at the end of the session.
Home School Links
We understand that parents need time to get to know and trust the staff and we begin that process positively by ensuring that families feel respected and listened to. We feel that each parent's contribution to their child's care and education is important. Communication between home and school is on-going and we recognise the importance of parental involvement. We appreciate the need for time to ask questions and air anxieties, so we operate an 'open door' policy which enables parents and carers to call in whenever they wish or are able to.
Our emphasis is on the three C's
Confidence
Communication
Co-operation
